Leo's Heart - Childhood Cancer & Blood Disorders Program

leo walzMy son Leo is about to turn 7 years old. This year, for his birthday, he has decided he would like to forgo most of his presents in lieu of donations to the Dell Children's Hospital - Childhood Cancer & Blood Disorder Program. Kaleidoscope Toys in Round Rock is sponsoring Leo's fundraiser by donating 10% of their total Sunday sales in June to the Dell Children's Hospital - Childhood Cancer & Blood Disorder Program. We are encouraging all of the guests to either donate directly to the Dell Children's Hospital through this web page or to buy a birthday gift for Leo at Kaleidoscope Toys on a Sunday in June, so that part of the proceeds from that gifts will be donated to the hospital. In addition to that, Kaleidoscope Toys has a program called the "birthday bucket". Basically, children go into the store and fill a bucket with all the toys they really want for their birthday. The party guests then either come in and choose from that bucket or buy from it online (www.kstoy.com). Leo will choose random gifts to put in his birthday bucket to be donated directly to the children at the Dell Children's Hospital. Every child needs a special present. I am so proud of Leo and his beautiful heart!

Neurosciences Program Fundraiser in Honor of Macy Burns

MacyBurns

My desire is to raise funds for a very important program within Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas, located in Austin. The Neuroscience Program at DCMC provides much needed medical care and support to children and their families throughout Texas.

I've been one of their patients since I was diagnosed with Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy at the age of 14.

5th Annual Kate Singer Endowment Fundraiser

Kate is turning ten-years-old and we are celebrating with a fundraiser for Dell Children's Medical Center. Kate was born with Sagital Synostosis, a condition that caused the bones in her head to fuse together. To correct this situation she underwent surgery to reconstruct her skull. We were fortunate, today Kate is fabulous. She is smart, funny, enjoys school, and brings a smile to all who know her. When she was born there was not a state-of-the-art medical facility for children in Austin, Texas. She was treated by wonderful doctors at Children's Hospital of San Diego. Since that time a new hospital has opened in Central Texas, and for the past five years we have supported the research efforts of these local doctors with the "Kate Singer Endowment for Cranio-Facial Surgery and Research" (In 2010 we began donating to a similar fund in San Diego). We donate part of the fees Thom earns as a professional speaker, and each year on Kate's birthday we host this fundraiser. Please join us by making a donation of any size. Thank you, Thom, Sara, Jackie and Kate Singer

For those who know me, and to those visiting this page, understand that throughout my adult life I have been involved with the National Leukemia Foundation, Children's Cancer Fund and many others. Now living in the Austin area, I want to continue to support in any way I can and my way is through Art and the Dell Children's Medical Center. I will continue to paint to drive support to this cause.

Catherine Elizabeth Gibson Endowment Fund for Children's Books

catherine-gibsonCatherine Elizabeth Gibson was a wonderful daughter, sister, granddaughter, cousin and friend.  On October 7, 2009 she became an angel.  Catherine passed away at the young age of 5 from H1N1 flu complications. Catherine loved to read book.  We started reading to her as a baby and her favorite book was Ladybug, Ladybug.  Her love for reading only grew from then on.  She loved to read about the ocean, princesses and far away lands.  She dreamed of all of the places that she would travel to in her lifetime.

carl teelCarl Teel Music Endowment

My Dad, Carl Teel was a gifted musician as well as a piano teacher for over 40 years in Austin. He also earned his master’s degree in Music at North Texas State University. At the end of his life my Dad had an active piano studio of 20 students. He would be, as my entire family is, very humbled by the generosity and thoughtfulness of the Dell Children’s Medical Center for this honor in his name. The Carl Teel Music Endowment allows for a full-fledged musical therapy program directed by individuals trained in this specialty. This is a well established and effective therapy in many other Children’s Hospitals in the country, and we are very much looking forward to having it be a part of Dell Children’s Medical Center. Kaitlin's 14th Birthday Campaign

My desire is to raise funds for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This program provides medical care and support to babies who cannot survive on their own without medical assistance. I was one of these babies and I was fortunate enough to have excellent care. Now I’m a thriving and happy 14 year old girl. When I was born, I weighed 3lbs and 11oz and wasn’t breathing. I spent 3 weeks in the hospital. I was one of the lucky ones; I didn’t have to stay in the hospital as long as some of the babies do. Also my parents could stay with me and didn’t have to work. That isn’t the case most of the time, though; some parents do have to go work, have to leave their babies at the hospital, and only get to visit them. So, while the parents aren’t there, the nurses are the ones who must give loving care to these babies until they are able to go home with their parents. These nurses work day and night to keep these babies happy and healthy. Please consider donating to Dell Children’s Hospital for this cause. Your support will help in providing good care for these tiny, little lives. Thank you in advance.

One person can make a difference and influence the course of human events. We have chosen you to help make that difference. The purpose of this fundraiser is to continue to contribute to the children less fortunate. We are helping the children that will continue to need your contributions for assistance with bone, joint and spine issues. The more you help the better you will feel about helping a child in need. They are depending on us to chip in and we are requesting for your assistance. In just minutes you can help one child and in hours we can continue to help many. We are most grateful for any support you can give us.
